AIPEU, Group-C, Bhadrak Divisional branch successfully conducted its 8th Biennial Conference

The All India Postal Employees Union, Group-C, Bhadrak Divisional branch conducted its 8^th Biennial Conference  from 22^nd to 23^rd February, 2014 successfully in the campus of Bhadrak Head Post Office.

During the Conference, going beyond the traditional activities, the Comrades of Bhadrak Division had taken a nice effort in organizing a blood donation camp on 23.02.2014 in the premises of Bhadrak H O in cooperation with the Divisional administration which is certainly praiseworthy.

In the beginning of the Open Session on 23.02.2014, the national Flag was hoisted by Sj. Jugal Kishore Pattnaik, Hon’ble MLA, Bhadrak  who had been invited as the Chief Guest and NFPE flag was hoisted  by Com. B Samal, Asst. Circle Secretary, AIPEU, Group-C, Odisha Circle attended the Conference as Chief Speaker. The Open Session of the Conference was also inaugurated by Sj. Jugal Kishore Pattnaik, Hon’ble MLA, Bhadrak at 10.45 AM on 23.02.2014 and welcome address was given by Sj. Dibyasingh Nayak, Chairman, Reception Committee & President CITU, Bhadrak.

In his welcome address, Sj. Dibyasingh Nayak, President CITU, Bhadrak stressed the role of trade unions in accelerating the movements of the working class in general and that of the Central Govt. employees in particular. Addressing the Conference as Guest of Honour, Sj. K C Chinara, Hon’ble Superintendent of Post Offices, Bhadrak Division appreciated the role of the Divisional Union in extending every cooperation to the present administration in its smooth functioning.

Briefing the history of postal trade union movement  from Postal Club, Kolkatta GPO to formation of NFPE and subsequent struggle programmes by NFPE and Confederation till date and narrating the glorious journey of India Post from Pigeon Post to IT Modernization Project as Chief Speaker, Com. Bruhaspati Samal registered his dissatisfaction for the poor participation of the members in such forums which give an opportunity to the members to learn something for better awareness in strengthening our nation and our organization. He stressed upon all to realize their individual responsibility as a common citizen of India, as a responsible employee of India Post and as a disciplined member of National Federation of Postal Employees.

Addressing the Conference as Hon’ble Speaker, Com. Debabrat Mohanty , CS, P-IV, Odisha Circle suggested the members to get ready for the future agitational programmes to be launched by the Confederation during June-2014. As Hon’ble Speaker, Com. Gopal Ch. Padhiary , Organizing Secretary, AIPEU, Gr.-C, Odisha Circle also appealed the members to remain united always for welfare of the department and the union. Among others, Sj. Apurba Ranjan Ray, Editor Salandi Samachar,  Com. K C Patra , Secretary, Coordination Committee of Trade Unions Association, Bhadrak, and Com. Bamadeb Mishra, Joint Secretary, Oriental Insurance Employees Union, Odisha State also addressed the Open Session.

At the end of the Open Session, the Working Committee felicitated Com. A K Tripathy, ex-Divisional Secretary, AIPEU, Group-C, Balasore Division and Com  Badal Sikdar, a retired Postal employee of Bhadrak Division and notable stage artist.
