A copy of the BD& Mktg. Directorate referred letter along with its enclosure on the above subject is sent herewith for information, guidance and necessary action.

I am directed to intimate you that the rate of service tax is 12%w.e.f. 1.4.2012. There is no change in the Education Cess (2%) and Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Cess (1%). Thus the effect of the rate of service tax is 12.36% w.e.r.01.04.2012.
