Provisional appointment of Postal Assistants in Bhubaneswar Division :

                The following outsider candidates who have been selected for appointment to the cadre of Postal Assistant in Bhubaneswar Postal Division against the vacancies pertaining to the year 2009 & 2010 and completed two weeks in-house training at Bhubaneswar GPO during the period from 08.08.2011 to 23.08.2011, are hereby provisionally appointed as Postal Assistant in Bhubaneswar Postal Division in the Scale of Pay Rs.5200 – 20200 with Grade Pay Rs.2400/- in Pay Band-1  with effect from the date of joining. They are posted to work as Postal Assistant in the office noted against their name below.

The conditions of the appointment are as follows:

1.             The appointment is purely temporary and on ad-hoc basis and will not confer on them any right for permanent employment. Permanent absorption will be made in accordance with the rules in force.

2.             The appointment as well as the place of posting is subject to satisfactory completion of prescribed induction training at PTC. However, their actual place of posting will be considered after satisfactory completion of Induction Training.

3.             The appointment may be terminated at any time by a month’s notice given by the appointing authority without assigning reasons. The appointing authority however, reserves all rights of terminating the services of the appointee forthwith or before expiry of the stipulated period of notice by making payment to him a sum equivalent to the pay and allowances for the period of notice or the unexpired portion thereof.
                                                               
4.             The appointee carries with him the liability to serve in any part of Bhubaneswar Postal Division and in special circumstances in any part of India. The appointee will be liable to serve in the Army Postal Service in India or abroad, as required.

5.             Other conditions of service will be governed by the relevant rules and orders in force from time to time.

6.             The minimum probation period is two years. The appointee is required to pass the confirmation examination as per Departmental rules and regulations within a maximum of six chances failing which he will not earn any increment in the post.

7.             Till trained by PTCs the above candidates may not be detailed on sensitive seats nor deputed to man the counters. For instance they can be utilized in back office under effective supervision and in turn the already trained PAs who in the said process become available may be deputed on the counters.

8.             The above candidate on joining in the Postal Assistant cadre will be governed by restructured defined contribution pension system available to new entrants to the Central Government with effect from 1st January, 2004.
