Govt committed to make postal services more people friendly: Sibal

           Union minister for communications and information technology Kapil Sibal today said the government is committed to make the postal services more people friendly. Inaugurating an e-post office in New Delhi, Mr. Sibal said the e-post office is an ambitious project of India post. E-post office is the e-commerce portal of India Post. The portal will enable the customers to transact postal business any time and from anywhere using either debit card or credit card through the medium of internet.

            Mr. Sibal said it would enable its customers to carry out postal transactions through the internet, from customers homes or offices. One of the focus areas of the first phase of e-post office is on the money order service.

           AIR correspondent reports the first phase of the e-post office launched will now offer electronic money order, instant money order, sale of philatelic stamps and tracking of express and international shipments. India post has collaborated with agencies in the public and private sector to make the e-post office a reality.
