Electricity Duty not chargeable if consumed by Govt. of India

Dear Comrades,
It has been confirmed by the Electrical Inspector ( T & D ), Bhubaneswar that  as per section 13 of OED Act, 1961, Electricity Duty is not  chargeable  if it is consumed by Govt. of India. Accordingly, SSPOs, Bhubaneswar has now directed all concerned .

With reference to subject cited above, this is to intimate you that as per section 13 of OED Act, 1961, Electricity Duty is not leviable  or chargeable  if it is consumed by Govt. of India. While exempting Electricity Duty, the clause 2 ( c ) and 3 of  O E D Act, 1961 may be scrupulously followed in all purposes.
