All India CPI for the Industrial Workers for Dec-2011

All India Consumer Price index Numbers for Industrial Workers on base 2001=100 for the Month of December, 2010

All India Consumer Price Index Number for Industrial Workers (CPI-IW) on base 2001=100 for the month of  December, 2010 increased by 3 points and stood at 185 (one hundred and eighty five).
            During December, 2010, the index recorded an increase of 9 points in Quilon centre, 8 points in Guntur centre, 7 points each in Tiruchirapally, Vadodara and Belgaum centers, 6 points in 4 centers, 5 points in 6 centers, 4 points in 10 centers, 3 points in 16 centers, 2 points in 15 centers and 1 point in 8 centers. The index decreased by 2 points each in Kodarma and Tripura centers, 1 point each in Durgapur, Ranchi Hatia and Ludhiana centers, while in the remaining 9 centers the index remained stationary.
            The maximum increase of 9 points in Quilon centre is mainly on account of increase in the prices of Rice, Coconut Oil, Fish Fresh, Onion, Vegetable & Fruit items, Tea (Readymade), Firewood, etc. The increase of 8 points in Guntur centre is due to increase in the prices of Rice, Groundnut Oil, Onion, Tamarind, Vegetable & Fruit items, etc. The increase of 7 points each in Tiruchirapally, Vadodara and Belgaum centers is due to increase in the prices of Rice, Wheat, Jowar, Goat Meat, Eggs (Hen), Onion, Vegetable items, Sugar, Petrol, etc. However, the decrease of 2 points each in Kodarma and Tripura centers is due to decrease in the prices of Rice, Wheat Atta, Vegetable items, etc. and the decrease of 1 point each in  Durgapur, Ranchi Hatia and Ludhiana centers is due to decrease in the prices of Rice, Wheat Atta, Vegetable items, etc.
            The indices in respect of the six major centers are as follows :

            The All-India (General) point to point rate of inflation for the month of December, 2010 is 9.47% as compared to 8.33% in November, 2010. Inflation based on Food Index is 7.98% in December, 2010 as compared to 5.35% in November, 2010.
